I've been looking at an application called "Group Valet" for setting up the attendance for OWFO races and perhaps as a crew bank.  If you register with this group you should get updates as to who is coming to each race.  Let me know if you need an invitation to this group.

The first open race of the season.  

Yes, we are squeeking in still another race tonight.  There is wind!  The time of the race start is 5:30pm.  Hope to see you there.

Columbus Day Race  -  Join in the Third Annual OWFO Columbus Day Race.  The tentative schedule is Monday October 14th at 2:30pm.  Meet at SYC after the race for the annual apre-sail Happy Hour.

Starting Friday September 27th, the race committee will start races at 6:00pm rather than 6:30 due to daylight.  If the registered competitors are not ready at 6pm, there might be a short practice race start (Race 99.)  The practice start is the same 5-4-1 start, after which all boats stand clear of all other competitors and return to the start line for the start of a full race.

Friday 8/23 is a low-low spring tide at 6:30, check the chart before the race!

Friday night races continue with the Solstice race this Friday!  RC sets the line at 6pm with the first gun expected at 6:30pm.  Hope you can make it.  Also, please register for the "Crew Bank" by replying to owfopen@gmail.com.  Skippers will contact you directly.

We are going to try the Friday night race night instead of Thursday and see what happens.  Seems that most or all of the regulars can make it and some prefer Friday.  There are pro's and con's and hopefully we will attract some of the commuters and boats from Nyack to join us.  RC will check in at 5:30 on VHF 68, Launch at 6pm and first gun is at 6:30.  Hope to see you there.
