Owen Sacco
Owen Sacco was awarded a Ph.D. from the National University of Ireland Galway, in Galway Ireland, co-funded by the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET). He was a member of the Social Software Unit (USS) at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) supervised by Dr. John Breslin. His research interests are focused on the Social Semantic Web field, in particular, on Privacy, Trust and Accountability for the Web of Data, specifically for Social Data.

Prior to joining DERI, he worked for three and a half years as a software developer at Shireburn Software, an established software development company specialising in business and collaborative applications. During his Master in Science (MSc) course, he joined Telecom Bretagne in Brest, France, as an intern researching on information retrieval using folksonomies.

He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta focusing on applying Semantic Web techniques to automatically generate game content from diverse Web sources.
