Student Newspaper, The Scout, Named National Finalists by Columbia Scholastic Press Association

Last week, OHS student body reveled in the much anticipated release of this year's first edition of "The Scout", Overland's Student Newspaper. In addition to this exciting news, The Scout, has also been named national finalists for the second year in a row for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Crown Awards. Last year we won the award, and we are excited to be finalists once again. The award winners will be named in the spring.

The editors-in-chief are Overland seniors, Livan Samudio and Victoria Dantzler. The Scout currently has 25 students on staff whose positions range from reporters to artists, photographers, business editors, and section editors. The students are in charge of the magazine, deciding on content, writing, reporting, page design, photography, fundraising, and art.

SUBSCRIBE TODAY! Copies of the first edition of "The Scout" are available around the school in the various offices and in office 2014D. Additionally, mailed subscription are available for $10/year. Email OverlandScout@gmail.com for more info on how to order a subscription.

Students interested in joining Newspaper can fill out an application for next year's staff during registration for classes for next year. Any questions can be emailed to OverlandScout@gmail.com.
