Chances are that if you are reading this you are either on your way out of the organization or are seriously considering your departure.  Welcome friend, you are not alone but are walking a path well worn by those who have come before you.

Life Outside of the Ark web site is a non-profit service provided to those interested in the process of disassociating themselves from the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses.  We do not actively seek to liberate current Witnesses from their chosen life, only to provide support to those seeking to leave of their own volition.

In this site you will find practical advice based upon our own (the administrators) personal experience of disassociating ourselves from the society more than twelve years ago. Examples of the type of information you will find on our site are things we wish we had considered before we formally left the organization.

Preparing the way for your departure is a crucial step to making your transition less painful and ultimately more successful. Once you have prepared yourself for leaving you can move on to the suggestions for the actual departure.  Also, you will find support links to other helpful sites as well as suggested reading materials that may be of assistance to you during the process of disassociation.

What you will not find on this site is lengthy discourse debating Witness theology.  There are many other sites that do a superb job of researching such doctrinal issues, and we are happy to list a select few of those on our "Support Resources" page.

Finally, although, we can not guarantee that your comments will appear on this web site, if you are an ex-Witness and have suggestions on how this site can be improved to better serve those in need, we will happily consider your input.
