Action Alert -- Grass Root effort to Help Flood Victims in Pakistan

This Project will implement vast array of programs that would provide all the basic human needs vital to day-to-day survival; Daily feeding program for school children with hot meals, free medical care; job training; classes in English as a Second Language, literacy, computers, office skills and sewing; and a community wide adopt-a- needy family program. The community center will be dedicated to relieving the poverty by taking a holistic and humanitarian approach with the underlying goal of lifting the needy out of poverty and into self-sufficiency.

The Social Services Community Center's underlying mission will be to provide the means and the path to self-sufficiency to “Break the Bonds of Poverty". It will provide opportunities and support essentials to reducing, and hopefully, eliminating reliance on public and private assistance. And, it will all be done in a manner that maintains the dignity and self-esteem of recipients.

A two phase pilot project is being launched in two cities; Kabirwala in Province of Punjab and Dadu in Province of Sindh.

Phase 1:

200 school children in each pilot location will be provided hot lunches. The children and parents will help prepare the meals. Children will participate in a pilot to plant 80,000 trees in 200 days. A clean water education plan will also be initiated with the participation of local community.

Phase 2:
Campaign to plant
One million trees in 1000 days
