CLIFTON STREET CEMETERY

 
Clifton Street Graveyard opened in 1797 and was managed by the Belfast Charitable Society. Burials no longer take place in the cemetery, which is now a recognised historical site, and has been managed by the Belfast City Council since 1984.

Born 25th Sept 1890 - Died 13th Feb 1920

Major William Basil Ewart died on the 13th Feb 1920 from disease

contracted on active service. He joined up in 1914 and was one of

the first Officers appointed to the 15th Royal Irish Rifles. He served

in France He has left a widow and son surviving.
