OSN Travel Award Announcement

The Open Science Network in Ethnobiology (OSN) is proud to announce that we will be hosting a competition among ethnobiological educators that will make you eligible for future travel support, including support to attend the 2013 Society for Economic Botany proceedings in Plymouth, England (June 28-July). These meetings will provide an opportunity to interact with members of OSN, to learn more about this unique educational network, and to contribute to our goals of developing innovative teaching strategies and standards for the field of ethnobiology. We are looking for energetic, motivated ethnobiogical educators to get involved with the current Network!

All interested Ethnobiologists need to do three things to be considered for this award:

  1. Submit a link to one of your online teaching modules that will be posted on the OSN website. A module is any size unit that gets across the lesson you have for your class.
  2. Complete an application for funding. You can access this application by clicking on this link: TravelAward Application ( copy and paste the full link if you have problems with the previous link: https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=NVlKtw%2ATLX06Ps8okZFtRw).
  3. Conduct one peer review analysis of a module that has been posted to the site.

Please submit your module link to Keri Barfield (kbarfield@brit.org). She will then send the peer review form and a link to a module that you will perform your peer review analysis. Deadline for consideration: Jan 18, 2012

Each application packet (submitted module and peer review) will be reviewed by the OSN Core team. Travel award winners will be selected based on this review and notified by January 25, 2013.

If you have any questions, please contact the OSN Project Manager, Keri Barfield (kbarfield@brit.org).
