Study Groups 

Designed and led by members, study groups are free to all OLLI-UW members. Groups offer participants self-directed learning opportunities to focus on a chosen topic for a sustained period in a community of members with similar interests. Osher peer-led study groups are exclusively for OLLI-UW members.

Contemporary Reads at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park
Location: Third Place Books, Lake Forest Park (North Seattle)
We meet in the hallway at the bottom of the elevator, usually at tables in front of the entrance to the King County Library.
Schedule: Monthly, 2nd Monday of each month (except July & August)

Everett Book Group

Current book selection: An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser 

Join this book group which will both read and discuss the current book. This group will be organized so that you will read sections of the book on your own and then come together to discuss that section of the book. There is no fee for this group, but you must be an OLLI-UW member. This group is facilitated by Sharon Severson.

Everett Book Group

Join a new group to study and discuss Eleanor Roosevelt based on the three book series, Eleanor Roosevelt, Volume 1 by Blanche Wiesen Cook. The group will meet weekly starting January 3, 1:30 - 3:30 pm and will meet in the Carl Gipson Senior Center's Board Room. 

For the first class meeting, please have read through Chapter 4. Facilitator, Kiely McFerren.

Everett Book Group (New)

The Age of Benjamin Franklin

We will be meeting on Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 beginning May 10, 2018 for 8 weeks, at the home of Ms. Hahler.

During these meetings we will analyze and discuss multiple aspects of Franklin's Life including his accomplishments here in America as well as those in Europe.

We will be using DVD's from "The Great Courses" as well as supplementary readings and handouts provided by the facilitator, Helmi Hahler.

Mercer Island Current Events Roundtable
Location: Mercer Island Community and Events Center (MICEC), Clarke Room (8236 - 24th Ave. SE)
Updated Schedule: Weekly, every Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at MICEC. 

Join other OLLI-UW members in discussing the events of the day in an informal and friendly environment with a beautiful view of Lake Washington and Bellevue.  You may also join the group as an observer.  The observers will be able to sit back and relax and learn from the dialogue.  Whenever they are ready to participate in the conversation, all they have to do is raise their hand.  The City of Mercer Island provides free coffee to add to casual but interesting experience.  Elliot Newman facilitates this group.  Please register at or 206-616-1462 if interested.  Meets Wednesdays 10-11:30am

Weather cancellation policy: The Roundtable meeting will be cancelled if the Mercer Island School District cancels school.
