7th Annual Orthodox Youth festival "Made in the Image of God"

posted Jul 19, 2011, 12:43 AM by Timothy Curtis
Father Timothy participated in the Orthodox Youth festival again this year, hosting the 'hot potatoes' session and a plenary talk summing up the speakers at the festival. Honoured speakers were Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia, Dimitri Conomos, Fr Stephen Platt, Priestmonk Melchisedek and Fr Gregory Hallam. The hot potatoes session is where participants at the festival can ask (anonymously) any question of faith and morals they like and the gathered speakers (and other leaders) will answer as honestly and frankly as they can. The discussions remain confidential to the group. This allows a high level of honesty and authenticity in the responses given to the young people who attend, and who often want to go beyond the 'spiritual' answer.

The videos of the talks can be found here at the Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies website.
