Bill Brand is an artist, educator and film preservationist. His films and videos are seen worldwide in museums, festivals and on television. His 1980 public artwork Masstransiscope, an animated mural, is installed in the subway in Brooklyn. He is Professor of Film and Photography at Hampshire College and teaches film preservation in the MIAP graduate program at NYU. With his company BB Optics he offers archival preservation of small gauge films and films by artists.
