Hinjlicut area

By Ajaya Sahu

HINJILICUT is the 2nd most Population Town in Ganjam District after BERHAMPUR as per the census “2001”. Even Chatrapur (20288), Aska (20718) & Bhanjanagar (19699) are less in Population in comparison to HINJILICUT (21344). It is very much disappointing and painful when we see state government is lacking in education requirements for the area /locality.

With reference to the above fact, can we get some privilege of our rights/demand sir, for the town HINJILICUT!!!

A. Science College, Hinjilicut (Established in 1963) is the 2nd best College in the district after Khallikote College, Berhampur. There is a long demand for opening PG Stream Courses with MBA and MCA!!! Hope you would take care by converting its Status to an Autonomous College as a best regard to this district.

B. Women’s College: In memory to Late Gyan Patnaik, request to open a Women’s college (at least a State level institute) at Hinjilicut as you can notice towns like Bhanjanagar / Aska / Chatrapur / Digapahandi are having Women’s college, but we are yet to start a Women’s college in this Town.

C. Kendriya Vidyalaya: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved setting up of 6,000 Model Schools at the Block level in the country. Initially, in the First Phase of the implementation of this Centrally Sponsored Scheme, 2,500 Model Schools will be set up in the Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs). These schools will be set up through State Governments.
A model school will have infrastructure and facilities, at least of the standard as in a Kendriya Vidyalaya and with stipulations on pupil-teacher ratio, ICT usage, holistic educational environment, appropriate curriculum and emphasis on output and outcome.  Refer the below link for more details.

Since Hinjilicut is listed in this list, can you please take initiative on this please!!! Refer the below mentioned link for more details.
Also if there is a proposal for 2nd Kendriya Vidyalaya at Berhampur, it can open at Hinjilicut as being centre point for Aska and Berhampur region.

D. Pharmacy College: The 1st Pharmacy college of Odisha started at Science College, Hinjilicut in the year 1979 and subsequently shifted to Mohuda (Near Berhampur) by Late Brundaban Nayak. Can you please open some kind of Diploma in Pharmacy or Nursery College at Hinjilicut!!!

E. Diploma / Degree Stream School / College:
Presently Hinjilicut town is having Five High Schools but unfortunately not to see a Diploma / Degree stream technical institute. As Odisha is heading for rapid industrialization, mobilizing technical staff will be a difficult task for the government to eradicate unemployment. Hope you would open shortly at least a Diploma Stream School /Polytechnic (Engg.) at Brundavan Vidyapitha as a startup to mark the respect for the 100 years old High school.

F. Gems and Jewellery Training Institute: Hope you would speed up in establishing this institute at Hinjilicut to stop migration of people as large numbers of artisans from Ganjam district, who are engaged in cutting and fining gem stones in far away at Mumbai and Surat, would not migrate to other States if a Gems and Jewellary Training Institute is set up in Hinjilicut. You had earlier written a letter to the Central Commerce Minister demanding to set up a Gems and Jewellery Training Institute in the State. Refer the below link for more details.

G. Agriculture College: As you know, Hinjilicut is the vegetable feeder for the entire Ganjam district and PAN leaf supply is famous for the whole state of Odisha and Border States. People of this locality are having their source of income mainly on the corps. Request to start an Agriculture College at Hinjilicut which will be justice for the local surrounding people. The best site for this is near to Saunelei temple/ Ghodahada River bank at Hinjilicut, a vast patch of land being available there.

H. Laxmi Nusingha Kala Mandir: Sir, recently you have inaugurated this Kalamandir at Hinjilicut but there is no scope for its development / growth. Can you open a Branch of Government College of Art and Crafts, Khallikote, Ganjam which will be right fit to this region.

I. Indian Institute of Handloom Technology: The silk city Berhampur deserves institute like IIHT -Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (as like IIHT –Bargarh for Sambalpuri Saree) as very recently it is moving towards Government of India’s Geographical Indications (GI) registry for Berhampur Pattu Sarees. Since most of the weaver’s society is in Hinjilicut region, this institute can open at Hinjilicut which is just 20 km away from Berhampur.
