Class Guidelines

OCoP will meet every other month on the third Saturday of the month, in the Children's room of the Squirrel Hill branch of Carnegie Library.  There are rare cases in which we will move the meeting to the fourth Saturday due to a major holiday, and when this occurs we will try to have the Current Events page updated with any change of schedule ahead of time.  If you have questions as to whether or not a meeting is being moved to a different weekend please email origamiclubofpgh@gmail.com, or call the library to verify the date on the day in question.  You can find information for the Squirrel Hill branch on the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh web site here:

The classes are free and open to the public, however we request a voluntary donation of $0.25/child and $1/adult to help cover the cost of paper and supplies.

During the meeting, we teach models; show and tell; discuss club news and events; etc.

Beginner's/Intermediate class is from noon to 1:00 or 1:30 pm, depending upon the turnout and patience level of the folders.
Open Folding is from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  Please note that during Open Folding there will not necessarily be an instructor.  Anyone may bring a model and teach if they wish to, but there should be no expectation of a designated instructor.

Children under 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

For open folding the member should be able to fold either the flapping bird or crane by themselves from memory, and know the names of the basic folds (i.e. book fold, cupboard fold, etc.).
