Fall Conference


The OCSS Fall Conference will take place on 

Saturday, October 6th, 2018

 at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon, 

from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM.


Our keynote teacher is Tim Swinehart teaches social studies at Lincoln High School, in Portland, Oregon. In 2015 he was named the Oregon Outstanding Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the Oregon Council for the Social Studies. He is a longtime organizer with Portland Area Rethinking Schools and the Northwest Teaching for Social Justice Conference, and currently serves on the Portland Public Schools Climate Justice Committee. He is co-editor, with Bill Bigelow, of A People's Curriculum for the Earth: Teaching Climate Change and the Environmental Crisis.
