The Blind and Visually Impaired Student fund (BVIS) was created by the Oregon legislature when it closed the Oregon School for the Blind (OSB) September 1, 2009.  It provides services for those former OSB students and continues the mission to service students who are visually impaired in the state.  For more information click here to view an excerpt from HB2834.

ack and Field Meet at Ackerman Middle School in Canby was a great success with high attendance. The weather cooperated and it was a perfect day, if not a little cool in the morning.

The students both young and old enjoyed participating in both the field events and track events and collecting as many ribbons as possible. They proudly displayed them on their shirts and jackets. A few students exclaimed that it was the best day ever!

Many thanks go out to all the staff and parents and middle school students who participated in making this a success and especially to Scott McCallum and Kim McKie (Baker Prairie Middle School) for organizing the whole event.

We can’t wait for next year so we can have another exciting and wonderful day.
