Backbone Nodes

A backbone of nodes linking mesh islands in Southern California

This map shows locations for possible future backbone sites.

SAREDN (a.k.a Souuthwest AREDN) is a regional backbone implementation group in Southern California that is attempting to build a microwave backbone from "the Mexican boarder to the San Jose Bay area".

Nodes on this backbone may be using Time division multiple access (TDMA) , using the native firmware that comes with Ubiquiti radios, or they may use the AREDN firmware from aredn.org.

Nodes along the backbone will then link to local nodes and mesh networks so that EMMCOM traffic can flow up and down the state.
