Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions of people in developing nations lack access to basic eye care services. Lions have recognized the urgent need for corrective lenses and continue to lend their support to the Lions Recycle for Sight Program.
Oak Park and River Forest residents donate hundreds of pairs of used but usable eyeglasses for the club’s Recycle for Sight Program.
If you have used prescription or nonprescription glasses or sunglasses in your drawers, desks, or closets, you can donate them now!
These glasses, after they have been cleaned and classified by prescription, contribute to the global Lions effort to conserve sight for people, primarily in developing countries, who cannot afford corrective lenses.
Children's glasses are especially needed. Both plastic and metal frames are accepted.
