Past Events: 2009

December 28, 2009: J. Strauss's Die Fledermaus
Our second opera event, J. Strauss's Die Fledermaus, was a resounding success with over sixty attendees! To celebrate the holidays in operatic style, the community room was decorated in festive colors of red, silver and white. During the intermission, our guests sipped sparkling cider and enjoyed delicious apple streudel. Our Puccini cycle will continue throughout 2010 as we explore all the major operas by this great 20th century composer. Everyone is welcome to experience the joy of opera at our monthly programs.

November 23, 2009: Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme
Our first opera event, Puccini's La Boheme, was very well-received with over forty community members in attendance. The screening of this classic masterwork was followed by a dinner at Carrabbas Italian Restaurant, where over a dozen attendees met to discuss La Boheme and their love of opera in general. Opera@theLibrary is great way to meet others who share similar interests. We look forward to seeing you at our monthly events.
