Managing a single wireless access point is a simple procedure but the leap to manage multiple access points is either a complicated or expensive system. Companies like Ubiquiti have made the cost cheaper, nonetheless the cost is still high to many in developing countries.
OpenWrt is an open source third party firmware which is based upon the Linux kernel. OpenWrt is available for hundreds of devices from the cheapest $25 AP to expensive enterprise APs. Installing OpenWrt allows for a myriad of features and a universal configuration interface that allows for hardware independent commands.
A web based Wireless Network Management System was developed. This centralised system can manage multiple APs running OpenWrt. APs are added to a group, SSIDs are then associated to these groups so an AP inherits all settings belonging to its group.
