As a counsellor I have trained in a range of therapeutic styles so have an extensive ‘toolkit’ of approaches and devices to suit the needs and personalities of different clients.

There is no set way of working, but in essence, I will be listening to and reflecting upon your thoughts and feelings, helping you make vital make sense of whatever is troubling.

We may explore  past events and memories, which will could help you to gain a clearer understanding of the way you experience life now, allowing you to move forward with renewed purpose and vitality.

We start with an initial consultation/assessment where we will discuss any factors that might contributing to your feelings and, if you are happy to proceed, we will arrange to meet for a number of weekly one-hour sessions.

Although some issues can take a longer time to resolve, I believe that meaningful progress can occur within 8-10 sessions...sometimes more and sometimes less depending on particular clients.

As a qualified integrative counsellor (CPCAB Diploma), I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), the professional body which ensures that all members work ethically and safely within professional guidelines and boundaries. I also attend regular sessions of continuing professional development which keeps me up to date with new ideas skills and research.

If you choose to work with me, you will in safe hands. Confidentiality is paramount in counselling which essentially means what is discussed in the room stays in the room.
