__ BRING YOUR TEXTBOOK TO SCHOOL__ for return on Wed... Otherwise, return it on your own this week.

**Mon 6/1**

No weekly summary is due.

*Work on your project (Rube Goldberg)*.

NOTE: There is a lot of anxiety about the 60 x 60 x 60 cm requirements and the 20 transitions... Please DO NOT GET HUNG UP on this part of the project! These are guidelines. They were put forward to help guide you into producing a quality machine that truly demonstrates what you have learned. If you *fudge* these parameters a bit it is OK. But DO THE BEST YOU CAN! This *is* your big project to demonstrate your accumulated knowledge & ability to apply what we have studied all year. The only thing you should stress over is **DOING A GOOD, HIGH QUALITY JOB** and please *have some fun!*

* Note...** **Think of the 3 minutes as a competition... Do the best you can! Get as close (or beyond) as you can.... If you don't make it... You don't make it. If you make it, GREAT! But don't let any one part of this project break you down!*

P.S.... You've had all semester to work on your vocab project??? And you stressed about that on the night before it was due?!?!

Please print your time line and PhET evaluations. (Be sure you include three evaluations).

**Wed 5/27**

Hope you had a good holiday!

Please complete the following survey:

When are you meeting to build? When are you meeting to shop? When are you testing? When are you modifying your project???

--NOTE-- There have been some changes to the Rube Goldberg Project handout. Please get a new copy in class and dispose of the old copy! (I think I've made it more clear and easy to follow).

Any homeworks not turned in are due (think modern & nuclear physics)... Please get me any outstanding labs by TUESDAY next week!

Weekly summary is due.

**Extra Credit is due:**

Take a picture of you performing an activity and describe the physics involved as it relates to our current discussions/topics. You should attach (or print) the picture onto a piece of paper and include a written description of the physics. Things to focus on are: distance, displacement, speed, velocity, acceleration, and "g."__ __This is due at the beginning of class on Monday!

**Thur 9/25**

Speed of sound lab is due. Please have a MLWU done to go with it. Find the slope of this graph (graph it yourself or use Excel). Find *our* percent error (as measured in the measurement lab) from the accepted value for the speed of sound-- you should look this value up.** **

ws-2b kinematics and "g".doc or ws-2b Kinematics and "g".pdf is due.

We will be starting our "Acceleration due to Gravity" lab today. You should __come in to class__ with *any materials you need* to perform a practice trial and one set of procedures per group. Remember, if you need to use classroom material you should check with me first. This will be a formal lab and will include a formal write up. I suggest that your group starts planning now! LabReportRubric.doc or LabReportRubric.pdf

**Tues 9/ 23**

Grades are posted.

Weekly Summary is due.

WS side 2 (speed & acceleration) is due. WS 1 & 2.doc or WS 1 & 2.pdf

Speed of sound lab is due Thur. 9/25. Please have a MLWU done to go with it. Can you find the slope of this graph (graph it yourself or use Excel). What was our percent error from the accepted value for the speed of sound?

Time (s) |
Distance (m) |

0.38 | 75 |

0.69 | 150 |

0.87 | 210 |

**Fri 9/19**

WS side 1 (speed) is due. WS 1 & 2.doc or WS 1 & 2.pdf

Rolling Along lab is due. You should include a formal introduction (everyone does their own) and a MLWU. Both of these should be attached (stapled or glued) to your lab notebook immediately following your lab. Be sure to format your printer page so it will be the right size to fit in your notebook.

You should have procedures __written down__ for our lab on the speed of sound. Evan & Max, remember to bring the blow horn (or e-mail me with plenty of warning if you can't!) .

**Wed 9/17**

You __ **DO NOT**__ have to graph anything. Instead, please devise a method for completing this lab that will produce meaningful results. That is write an alternative method/set of procedures that will provide results that help calculate the speed of sound.

Print note packets. 1-DMotion-APPhys.ppt or 1-DMotion-APPhys-Student.pdf

Rolling Along lab will be due on __ Fri 9/19.__ You should include a formal introduction (everyone does their own) and a MLWU.
