Scott and Beth began their service with OMF International in July of 2009. For seven years, Scott served as the Chief Information Officer, responsible for Information Technology for the Fellowship, including systems (personnel, finance, medical, communications, etc.), policy, and information security and risk management. In November of 2016, Scott took a new role as the Deputy International Director for Fellowship Services, responsible for all of the support ministry services in OMF: Personnel, Mobilisation, Evangelisation, Training & Development, Finance & Administration, and Information Technology. In April of 2018, Scott was appointed as the International Director for Fellowship Services as part of the International Leadership Team. During their time in Singapore Beth spent eight years teaching math in the Middle Years and High School International Baccalaureate programme at the Canadian International School in Singapore. At the end of 2018, Beth retired from teaching to serve in the Training and Development team within OMF. Scott and Beth returned to Canada in December of 2020 and now serve as the Director for Personnel and Member Care Coordinator for OMF Canada, responsible for supporting all OMF Canada’s missionary workers both in Canada and abroad. Scott and Beth grew up in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and both graduated from Queen’s University in the mid-80s. They have two adult children, Anne and Andrew, who are both married, and living in Ottawa, Canada.
Thomas is originally from Edmonton and Kristina from Halifax. At age 10, Kristina felt God’s call to be a missionary. She continued to pursue God as a teen and went on several mission trips. She also lived in France for a year as a nanny. She has a B.Th. in Children’s and Family Ministry from Vanguard Bible College, Edmonton, AB. Although from a young age Thomas felt a great burden for the lost, it was during prayer in 2013 that he first sensed God’s call to Mongolia. He too has been involved in ministry at home and on mission trips in Africa and Asia. Near the end of his degree in Intercultural Studies at Vanguard, he met Kristina and they were married in 2018. Thomas and Kristina have a heart for Mongolia and the far corners of the earth where the love of Jesus is not known. They are currently living in Nova Scotia, where they and their two sons, Leo and Benjamin, are waiting for overseas travel to open up. They hope to be in Mongolia this summer to start a year-long vision trip.
Leah grew up in a Christian home that was no stranger to new relationships and places. Both her parents serve in the military, and as a result, she has lived in several provinces across Canada. She accepted Christ when she was young, but didn’t take that relationship into practice until she was older. She has felt a passion for the nations ever since her first cross-cultural trip to Washington, DC. She has served in five countries since then. Reuben was born and raised in Fredericton, NB, and accepted Christ at the age of four. He’s served at Caton’s Island Camp for eight years in a wide range of positions. Each of them led him closer to God’s calling of youth ministry on his life. Following God’s calling over mans was encouraged in his household, and when he brought up going to ministry school, as long as God said so, there were no hesitations. Reuben and Leah met at Kingswood University in Sussex, NB. Friendship quickly grew into a relationship, and the two were married just after graduating, Reuben with a Bachelor of Art in Ministry, majoring in Social justice and minoring in Youth, and Leah with a Bachelor of Art in Ministry, majoring in Intercultural Studies. After seeking clarity through prayer, mentorship, prophetic word, friends and family, they felt God calling them to the Philippines. More specifically, they feel called to the missionary kids and local Filipinos who attend Faith Academy. A door finally opened for them to travel to Manila in July of 2021, and the two have been serving as middle school chaplain and bible teacher (Reuben) and the school’s ministry coordinator (Leah) ever since. They plan on remaining in the Philippines until God calls them elsewhere.
Jessica was born in Alberta and is the eldest of four children. At a young age, her parents explained her sinfulness and her need of a relationship with God. And it was then that she accepted Christ as her Saviour. Growing up as a pastor’s kid she was taught about God and missions. At age twenty, she came to a point of realizing that she needed Christ not just as her Saviour but as her Lord. She has served in short term missions on three continents. Joshua was born and raised in PEI and is an only child. He grew up attending church but barely believing. At age 14, at a youth conference, he was confronted with God’s holiness and his sinfulness. He repented and asked Christ to be his Saviour. Life has had many ups and downs but God has never let go of him. Jessica and Joshua met while attending Prairie Bible College where she was studying Intercultural studies and he was studying Pastoral studies. It was their commonlove for the Lord and for Japan, that drew them together. It was during a short-term mission trip to Japan as a married couple, that confirmed their desire to serve God there. They are excited to use their skills to serve with OMF in Japan.
Brian and Linda went to Thailand in 1987 as relative newlyweds. We studied Thai language & culture in Bangkok for eighteen months, then moved to Chiang Mai in North Thailand in late 1988, within newborn daughter Bethany. Our primary focus between 1990 and 2001 was in Church Planting ministries, first living in a Pwo Karen village from February 1990 to June 1991, during which time our son Luke was born. From 1992 to 2001 we served as Advisors to the Inter-Tribal Church in Chiang Mai, a church which typically saw representation from as many as ten different minority, hilltribe background people attending each week. Daughter Brianna arrived in 1993. From 2003 onwards we have been involved with the Mekong Sector of the OMF China & Beyond area, in the area of Personnel, Candidate processing, TCK Care and Pastoral Member Care to colleagues in the Mekong Sector, as well as to those in the OMF Vietnam and Myanmar River Fields. It has been our very special privilege since 2015 to facilitate fourteen `Come Away` Retreats (a quiet & contemplative / strictly off-line, seven-day retreat) which has been of significant, even life-changing, blessing in the lives of nearly 200 people. We are currently stepping into a ‘transition’ phase of our lives, needing to establish a home base in Ontario, with a view to continued service with OMF both on the homeside (in Canada) and still providing member care and retreats on the fieldside in Chiang Mai and area. The Lord has blessed us with five grandchildren so far, the oldest being 5 years, and the youngest just 3 months of age.
