Announcements - Transformer Protection Assignment
A 500 kVA, 3-phase, 12kV/480V , 133% operation, Z=5%.
1. A fuse type A155F1DORO-40E is selected on the high voltage side.
2. A fuse class-L type A4BT1000 is selected on the low voltage side.
1. On Select-A-Fuse software, set the above parameters (Transf Þ 3-phase MV then Transf Þ 3-phase LV) , and
2. Print the characteristic curves of both fuses on 2-separate sheets (Fuse data Þ Time-Current curves), and
3. Sketch the protection zone of the transformer on each sheet,
4. Check the suitability of both fuse types and ratings,
5. Check the selectivity between the two fuses Due 19-12-2017
Announcements - Motor Protection Assignement
Reference to gG and gM fuse characteristics at : http://espm.co.uk/BS88%20fuse%20info.pdf
It is required to protect a 3-phase, 415V, 40hp, IFL=55 A IM and starting current =7IFL /10sec against OL and SC by fuses. There are 2 options (page 4 of 10):
1. Option 1 is to use gG fuse link with nominal rating 125A
2. Option 2:is to use gM fuse link with nominal rating 100M125
Check the suitability of both fuses by plotting motor starting curve on the t-I characteristic of both fuse links.
Announcements
Students are requested to carry out complete analysis on the network of Example 7- Section 5, and verify the results listed in Fig.54.
Announcements
