Sign Language Group

At Our Lady of Fatima we are very honoured to have a special ministry exclusively for our deaf community. We have a small but very unique team of sign language interpreters, led by Gillian, and made up of a number of adults and children.

We fully encourage and welcome members of the deaf community into our parish to attend our sign interpreted masses and receive the Word of God and God's everlasting love.

As well as inviting the deaf community for worship, if anyone requires help with prayers, advice and assistance our interpreters are available to give a helping hand.

Additionally, Our Lady of Fatima has sign language training classes each Friday from 3.10–4.00pm & 4.10–5.00pm in the presbytery, for children and their parents from Year 3 and above, who wish to learn how to sign. Both beginners and intermediate signers are welcome and our classes are very informal, relaxed and free.

At the request of some of the local deaf community our Sign Interpreted Mass is now on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 7.00pm.

If you would like receive further information about our deaf ministry or taking sign language classes please contact the presbytery (parish office).
