We are so glad you are here!
We welcome you in the name of Jesus, our Lord!
As you navigate through this site we pray that you will be blessed and find what you seek.

Dear Church Members and Friends,

John Wesley, the founder of Methodist, said “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”

As a church we operate by the support of its members, friends and community. We ask you to support Olivet through stewardship. You can continue to send your contributions as you have always done. However, we have opened another avenue for your giving which will allow donations to be made using debit, credit, Paypal or bank transfer. The transaction will be completed using Paypal, an online payment processing site. You are able to use your own Paypal account, create an account or complete a transaction without having a Paypal account by selecting Continue. Once you enter your information click "Review your Donation and Continue." On this page click the link called "Enter env. # and how to distribute funds." Use this link to tell us your envelope number and/or how you would like the funds distributed. (ie: memorial, mortgage, benevolence, mission of the month, etc.)

We thank God every day for what you are able to give.

  • Food Ministry Outreach Update June 17 marked the halfway point for 2015 for the Wednesday Community Lunch Program. As of that date we have served 1,448 meals. The largest attendance at any given meal was 95, the smallest attendance at 38. There has been a significant increase since the weather has turned warmer. The weekly out-of-pocket cost for each meal depends on what is being served and the availability of items from the food bank. We estimate the average cost per week is between $100 and $150. The most expensive items are the purchasing of protein items such as beef, poultry, and fish which are not generally available from the Chester County Food Bank. The contributions we receive through the church ...

  • Coatesville Kids to College Dear Olivet Members, Coatesville Kids to College wants to thank you for your partnership in positively affecting the lives of so many children and families this past year in the city of Coatesville through our programs. We interviewed some of the families, children and volunteers whom we work with and these are some things they had to say about their time here at Olivet United Methodist Church through the CKC program: “CKC is showing me how to stay focused in my work and believe in God so my grades don’t drop and I can succeed in school.” – Middle school student “It’s very good because it’s getting them ready for college, and it shows them that there is ...

  • “Come Unto Me” Why does nobody go to church anymore? Sunday School Class this fall Church attendance is shrinking. While 40 percent of Americans say they attend church every week, the actual number is closer to 20 percent. The percentage of teenagers attending church has dropped to 15 percent. Giving is in an ongoing decline. Half of all churches in the U.S. did not add any new members in the last two years. Researchers predict that by 2020 more than 85% of Americans won’t worship God at church. Christianity is in crisis. The statistics are grim but God’s message is still Good News. The world has changed. Today’s generation craves relationships that are not formed through traditional institutions. Many churches have failed to respond to this need for meaningful relationships. While ...

  • Reading Connections "You may have tangible wealth untold. Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be — I had someone who read to me." Strickland Gillilan Our Reading Connections ministry with Coatesville Kids to College has been a success! More than a dozen readers have shared the joy of reading. We have given the children dozens of books. The joy on their faces has been a blessing for us. The blessings we have shared are more than just literary; our actions have shown the children that the people of Olivet care about them and want them to do well. This is truly a ministry of love. This summer, we continue to collect new or gently-used books ...

  • Fantastic Strawberry Festival! Fantastic Strawberry Festival! All I can say about our Strawberry Festival is – WOW!!!! We had an awesome turnout of members from our congregation, community, and Forty Niners/Luken's Band members. AND, we sold all of the food that was prepared. I think I can safely say that everyone enjoyed the return of our Strawberry Festival!! So many hands went into making the day so successful! I'd like to thank those who helped purchase and prepare the food (slicing the strawberries and making the chicken salad is no easy chore!), those who helped serve the meal, those who cashiered, and those who helped set up and clean up afterward. I especially want to thank Harvey Algard, Mike and Becky ...
