    Abstract For implementing an automated head animation system we have to use some emotions analysis algorithms, which require that head be in frontal view. Hovewer, this requirement is not satisfied in real-world scenes. To solve the problem, we need to track head's 3D position on each frame of video sequence and create synthesized frontal projection of the head. In this work we utilize the method of head pose recovering and propose model initialization metod, additional termination criteria for minimization process and histogram-based method of selecting the best template pixels.

    Abstract In this paper we describe our current progress in head tracking module implementation. We highlight current problems, such as not precise head model initialization and dynamic templates update frequency. In this work we utilize the method of head pose recovering and propose model initialization metod, additional termination criteria for minimization process and histogram-based method of selecting the best template pixels.
