The following books are located in the SUNY Old Westbury behind the Reference Desk. Ask the Reference Librarian to get them for you.

RMA Annual Statement Studies (Reference Desk: HF5681 .B2 R6)
Contains composite financial data on manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, service, and contracting lines of business, arranged by NAICS code. This is the only source available at SUNY Old Westbury for certain kinds of key ratios for industries.

Industry Norms and Key Business Ratios (At the Reference Desk: HF5681 .R25 I525.
Balance sheet, income statement statistics and financial ratios for industries, arranged by NAICS/SIC codes .

An article index with high-quality coverage of many of the top business journals, much of it in full text. Good for general articles about companies and industries.

Business Insights: Essentials
For most industries, this database offers an industry overview, a list of major businesses in the industry, industry news, market share, rankings, and marketing reports from Datamonitor.

Business Source Complete

Access industry reports from Datamonitor:
Go to the Advanced Search page, choose "Industry Overview" in Document Type. Enter the NAICS code in the box below, or enter a descriptive term in the search box.

LexisNexis Academic

Always a good source of news and information, you can search for industry-specific news by clicking on the News tab at the top of the page, then clicking on the little "Add Index Terms +Show" link below the text boxes. Here you can limit your search by industry, by country, and by specific topic.

Mergent Online
Mergent Online
offers information about industries, including background & overview, news, and forecasts. From the main search page choose the Industry tab, then scroll down to the industry, region, and date you want. Click on View or Download to get your information.
You can also get a very basic industry overview from within the Company Reports--just click on the Industry Reports tab(last tab to the right side).

Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage
Probably the most detailed Industry Surveys available online at SUNY Old Westbury. The Industry Surveys can be accessed at the middle of the right side of the main page. Survey includes the current environment, industry trends, industry description, some key ratios, and analysis & forecasts.
