Natural Home Remedies for Treating and Healing Sunburns 


Ease the pain of a sunburn with these home remedies that cool, 
promote healing, moisturize and reduce discomfort fast. 





1. Aloe Vera
  
Ingredients: Aloe Vera Gel 


Instructions: Squeeze the gel from an Aloe Vera plant leaf and apply onto sunburned skin. Aloe helps to relieve sunburn discomfort while promoting faster healing. 




2. Cooling Mist
Ingredients: Witch Hazel, Lavender Oil, Rose Water, Aloe Gel

Instructions: Mix in a spray bottle one teaspoon witch hazel with 20 drops of lavender essential oil, 1/4 cup rose water and 3/4 cup Aloe Vera gel. Shake to mix then mist sunburned skin as often as needed to relieve discomfort. Store in the refrigerator between uses. Witch hazel along with other ingredients has a natural cooling effect on the skin while promoting faster healing.  




                       



3. Cucumber 
IngredientsCold Cucumber

Instructions: Soak a few slices of cucumber in cold water for several minutes then remove and gently slide over the sunburn. Doctors have suggested this remedy relieves sunburn discomfort as well as promoting faster healing. 




4. Vinegar 
Ingredients: Apple Cider or White Vinegar

Instructions: Saturate a cotton ball with vinegar and gently apply onto sunburned skin. Vinegar helps to the ease pain by naturally cooling skin.         
                               




5. Potato 
Ingredients: Cold Raw Potato

Instructions: Slice a raw potato and soak in cold water for several minutes then gently slide over the skin. Potato remedy helps to reduce sunburn discomfort while promoting healing. 




6. Honey Mask
IngredientsRaw Honey, Aloe Vera Gel, Lavender Oil

Instructions: Mix 2 teaspoons honey with two teaspoons aloe and two drops of lavender essential oil. Dampen skin then apply onto affected areas of skin leaving on for 20 minutes then rinsing off with cool water. Honey and aloe are excellent natural humectants that cool and heal sunburned skin while the lavender helps the production of healthy new skin cells.  




7. Yogurt
Ingredients: Plain Yogurt, Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions: Mix 1 tablespoon of yogurt with one drop of lavender oil making a spreadable paste. Apply the mixture onto affected areas of skin then leave on for about 15-20 minutes. Finish by rinsing off with cool water. Remedy has a cooling effect on the sunburned skin while adding moisture.
