Home Remedies for Protecting, Repairing and Restoring Shoes!


Restore your shoes with these easy remedies that polish, remove scuff marks, & waterproof.






                                                           
1 Freshen Shoes
Sprinkle salt into shoes and leave overnight to absorb odors.            
                                                                         
     
                                                                                                                                                 
2. Water Repellent Coating               
To Polish and to apply a water-repellent coating on shoes rub a slice of cucumber over the leather or vinyl.         
      
                                                                                                                                                                 

3. Polish                                                                                                                                
Use cooking oil on leather shoes. Rub the inside of a banana peel on leather shoes for a professional shine.             

          
                                              
4. Salt Stains                                                                                                          
Remove salt stains by mix one tablespoon white vinegar with 1 cup water and dipping a cotton ball into the solution and gently wiping away stains then air dry. 5. Scuff Marks                                                                
Remove scuff marks with baking soda and damp cloth.               


                                                                                                               
6. Waterproof                                                                   
Use a white candle for waterproof shoes by rubbing a candle on shoes then buffing with a soft cloth. 



7. Clean Suede Shoes
Use an eraser to remove stubborn marks and scuffs on suede shoes. 



8. Winter Salt Stains on Suede
Spray your shoes with hairspray then rinse with clean damp cloth. Repair if necessary. Finish by brushing suede smooth.  



9. Clean Dirt from Suede
Use a suede shoe brush or use a manicure nail brush. It's much cheaper and similar type of brush.

11. Winter Salt Stains
Remove salt stains from your leather shoes by mixing one tablespoon of white vinegar into one cup water. Use a clean cloth dipped into the liquid and wipe away the stain. 



12. Remove Candle Wax
Wrap shoes in plastic bag and place in the freezer for an hour or two. The wax will harden and crumble off. 



13. Chewing Gum
Same as candle wax place shoes in the freezer for a couple of hours then remove and brush away gum.
