1. Nettle 
This herbaceous plant is often called the "Stinging Nettle" due to its inflammatory properties and stinging effects. Nettle has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for many common ailments and skin conditions. By drinking Nettle tea daily, you will help to heal your acne from the inside out. 

Instructions:  Caution "Wear Gloves" when handling this plant! Begin by soaking plant leaves in hot water to remove its inflammatory properties and stinging effect. With gloved hands remove leaves from one stem and pour 2 cups of boiling water over them steeping for 5-8 minutes. Strain the liquid and add honey or lemon, if desired. Drink Nettle tea mixture several times a day until acne blemishes diminish. Nettle tea is available in specialty retail stores, but it's not as effective as the fresh herb. Allow more time for healing effects to occur if drinking store bought nettle tea bags.  (Book @ Barnes & Noble)  


  
Neem is referred to as the "Magic Acne Treatment" that delivers amazing results in just one night! Neem Tree powder heals, conditions and delivers vital nutrients necessary for glowing healthy skin. It's said, by incorporating Neem into your daily beauty regiment your complexion will become soft, even-toned, and acne free. 

Instructions:  Mix 1 teaspoon of Neem powder with enough water to create a thick paste. Gently massage the facial mixture onto acne blemishes then leave on overnight washing off in the morning with lukewarm water. Repeat facial treatment at least three times a week for best results. 3. Mint
The natural astringent properties of mint juice help to absorb acne-causing oils as it tones and promotes healing by providing essential nutrients. A popular facial treatment at most beauty salons that you can replicate at home for pennies. 

Instructions:  (Spot Treatment)  Squeeze out the juice of a few fresh mint leaves by rubbing them briskly together.  Dab juice onto acne blemishes and leave on for 10-20 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water. Apply a light moisturizer after treatment to counteract drying effects of mint. Repeat at least 3-4 times a week for best results or daily for extremely oily skin. 
(Face Mask)  Toss a large handful of fresh mint leaves into a food processor and blend until completely pureed. Mix with 1/4 cup plain yogurt and apply onto complexion leaving on for 20 minutes then rinsing with lukewarm water. Apply moisturizer when finished. Repeat facial mask one a week.  




4. Potato 
Potatoes have exceptional anti-aging and bleaching properties. This facial remedy will lighten age spots, blemish marks, sun damage, reduce wrinkles, unclog pores and heal acne blemishes over a short period of time. Repeat treatment daily for best results.  

Instructions:  Slice a raw potato and gently slide over your face, arms, chest or any area of the body you want to deposit potatoes healing nutrients! Continue sliding potato over your skin until natural juices are depleted then replace with a new slice. Place two slices over eyelids for 10 minutes to help diminish crow's feet. Repeat once a day for extreme acne conditions or once a week to keep pores clean. Potatoes are also beneficial for treating Pilaris Keratosis or better known as "Chicken Skin" a common skin disorder found on the back of upper arms. 


5. Visine 
This is a popular spot treatment among celebrities for diminishing red blemish marks! Just dab a drop of Visine onto a red blemish to lighten. Chemicals within this product act as a topical steroid shrinking blood vessels and inflammation which diminish redness.
  


6. Nutmeg Spice and Whole Milk
 
Nutmeg naturally soaks up acne-causing oils while it tightens and shrinks enlarged pores eliminating further contamination of dirt and oil building up causing acne blemishes. 

Instructions:  (Spot Treatment)  Apply a mixture of nutmeg and water or milk onto blemishes and allow mixture to dry then rinse off with lukewarm water and mild cleanser. Treat blemishes daily or at least 3-4 times a week to control oils. Moisturize after treatment to counter acts drying effects of nutmeg. (Facial Mask)  Mix 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg with 2 tablespoons whole milk creating a thin paste. Gently massage onto complexion leaving on for 30 minutes then rinsing with lukewarm water and mild cleanser. Apply moisturizer or Aloe Vera gel when finished.

                  


7. Dried Orange Peel 
The acidic properties of oranges together with its high content of  Vitamin C makes this fruit an effective facial remedy for healing acne and nourishing the skin.  

Instructions:  Peel an orange and allow the peel to dry in direct sunlight for several days or until peel is completely dried out. Once all moisture is removed grate hardened orange peel into a fine powder. Mix powder with enough water to make a spreadable paste then apply onto acne blemishes leaving on for 10-15 minutes rinsing with lukewarm water when complete. For best results repeat acne treatment 3-5 times a week. 




8. Tooth Paste 
Apply a dab of toothpaste directly onto acne blemishes and leave on overnight washing off in the morning with cool water. The bacteria-fighting ingredients in toothpaste will help to dry out pimples and kill bacteria that contribute to breakouts. Be sure to moisturizer to counteract drying effects of toothpaste. Acne treatment recommended only once a week to prevent over-drying skin. A quick low-cost acne treatment that's great in a pinch! 




9. Baking Soda and Vinegar 
Baking soda is an excellent exfoliating agent that removes dead skin cells, loosens and removes the content of clogged pores and follicles while the vinegar destroys acne-causing bacteria, tones and shrinks skin pores eliminating further build-up.


Instructions:  Mix together white or apple cider vinegar with baking soda creating a spreadable paste. Gently massage the mixture onto skin for several minutes then allow to dry before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Apply a light moisturizer or Aloe Vera gel after treatment to counteract drying effects. Repeat 3-5 times a week to exfoliate dead skin cells. 




10. Tomatoes
The acidic properties of tomatoes naturally dry acne blemishes while it kills bacteria. For complete tomato benefits, incorporate tomato paste into your daily diet for skin nutrients delivered from the inside out.  

Instructions:  Mash a ripe tomato and apply onto complexion leaving on for 10-20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and mild cleanser when finished then apply an application of moisturizer like Aloe Vera gel to counteract the drying effect of the tomatoes.  





11. Basil Leaves
Add a few fresh basil leaves into a cup of boiling water and allow to cool for several minutes. Once tolerable on your skin saturate a cotton ball and dab onto acne blemishes prior bed and rinsing off in the morning with lukewarm water. Basil has been proven to have medicinal properties that heal and kill acne-causing bacteria. 



12. Strawberries
The nutrients in strawberries help to heal acne blemishes and whiten teeth! Dermatologists claim drinking fruit juice daily will promote healthy skin from the inside out. 




13. Pepto-Bismol 
Pepto-Bismol helps to tighten and shrink pores while it absorbs acne-causing oils. It's a great facial treatment for excessively oily skin to combat acne breakouts. 

Instructions:  Apply a thin layer of Pepto-Bismol onto your complexion leaving on until completely dry. Once dried rinse off with cool water and be sure to moisturize to counteract the drying effect of this product. A great quick treatment for hot summer days to reduce oily film. 



Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that heal and prevent acne breakouts in addition to other healing and health benefits. Just dab a bit of tea tree oil onto blemishes leaving on overnight washing off in the morning with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. 15. Carrot Juice 
Carrots are rich in antioxidants and other vitamins extremely beneficial for the skin. Drinking carrot juice on a regular basis will help to clear acne, lighten pigmentation spots and improve the overall appearance of your complexion. 

   


16. Cucumbers and Yogurt
The bacteria in plain yogurt create an uninhabitable environment for acne-causing bacteria to survive. And the nutrients found in the juice of cucumbers nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Furthermore, cucumbers have a photochemical property that lightens dark patches, age spots, sun damage and acne scars. 

Instructions:  Toss a small peeled cucumber into a blender then add 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt and mix thoroughly. Apply the mixture onto complexion leaving on for 30 minutes then rinsing off with lukewarm water. During facial place a few cucumber slices over eyes lids to reduce dark circles and puffy eyes. Repeat facial daily until blemishes heal. 




17. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe is referred to as the "Best Working Facial Treatment for Acne."  Properties of Aloe Vera gel promotes healing and deeply moisturizes the skin. Use Aloe for sunburned skin the soothe and heal. 

Instructions:  Squeeze out the gel of one Aloe Vera leaf and apply onto acne blemishes leaving on overnight and rinsing in the morning with lukewarm water. Repeat daily to promote healing and to keep your skin moisturized without adding oils. If using bottled Aloe choose a product without any additives.

Instructions:  Mix baking soda with enough water to create a thick paste. Gently massage the mixture onto skin for several minutes then leave on until completely dry. Rinse with lukewarm water and finish with an application of Aloe or moisturizer. Repeat facial treatment daily to keep skin clean and exfoliated. 



19. Cinnamon Powder and Honey
This honey facial treatment was recommended on the Dr. Oz show for exfoliating and nourishing the skin. Adding cinnamon to facial helps to absorb acne-causing oils and to exfoliate dead skin cells. 


Instructions:  Mix 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder with 2 tablespoons honey and apply onto acne blemishes before bed washing off in the morning with lukewarm water. Repeat facial treatment 3-5 times a week to keep skin exfoliated. (Book @ Barnes & Noble) 




20. Garlic
 
The powerful bacteria-killing properties of garlic destroy acne-causing bacteria and dry up blemishes fast! After each application is sure to moisturize your skin to counteract the drying effects of garlic. Add garlic to your diet to heal from the inside out. 

Instructions:  Apply mashed garlic onto acne blemishes leaving on for about 10-20 minutes. You may feel a slight stinging sensation for a few seconds as it dries blemish. If stinging sensation does not subside rinse off with cool water immediately and apply some aloe vera gel to soothe skin. If tolerable leave on no longer than 15 minutes washing off with cool water when complete and an application of Aloe or moisturizer. 
        


21. Grapes
Rich in vitamin C grapes are a very effective acne prevention fruit. Add some grapes into your diet on a regular basis as an acne prevention treatment healing from the inside out.



22. Green Tea
