Fire Service Museum

The museum opened in September 1983 after three years work in converting a former fire engine workshop building at Rochdale fire station. Although operating as the Brigade Museum since that time, the collection, under a unique new arrangement, passed into the control of a charitable organisation known as Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum Trust in April 2010.
The Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum is situated in the fire station yard of the old Rochdale Fire Station on Maclure Rd Rochdale OL11 1DN.
Admission is free and visiting times are every Friday (except bank holidays) 10am - 4pm and the first Sunday of every month. For group visits at other times, please contact the Museum at www.gmfsmuseum.org.uk or by calling 01706 901 227.
I would like to thank Bob Bonner who gave me access to the archives to produce this site and the book.
