Monday September 14, 2015 – Monthly Meeting Report

Annual ELECTION are NOVEMBER 2, 2015


Mike opened the meeting at 7:00 with The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence was held for our troops and servicemen

SECRETARY REPORT: from the August 2015 meeting was read and accepted by the members.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  The treasurer’s report from August was accepted and posted. Kudos to Charles for getting a $750. Assessment from the IRS reversed.

MEMBERSHIP: Tom presented 9 applicants for membership, all were accepted and welcomed to the club.

NSSF and GOAL: Dale S welcomed new members and presented NSSF report and GOAL news.  Reported that the gun law seminar with Jon Green was a success and $410. Was raised for GOAL. Dales report is posted and other news can be found on the website.

INDOOR RANGE COMMITTEE: Specs for the heating systems and future air handling or expansion are in and have been sent to Board members for review. Quotes range from 25k to 50 k. Board to decide quickly due to winters at our backdoor. Next on committees agenda is foam and sealant.

IDPA: IDPA has a large match scheduled for Sat 9/19. It is expected that another intro class will be scheduled shortly.

PISTOL: Rick reporting that the pistol team’ home away from home will be Sautucket (?sp) in East Bridgewater. Starting their season this Thursday 9/15. Anyone interested in shooting with the team should see team members, many weeks they carpool from OCSA.

RIFLE: Roy reporting for Rifle the P.E. Brooks Memorial Shoot will be held 9/26-27.  Old Colony Gallery Rifle will start its season on 10/6, their home away from home will be Marshfield, and anyone interested in shooting should see Roy or team Captain Steve Mac. CMP Match to be held Sunday 10/11, M1 and Springfield matches are posted, see Franco with any questions. OCSA Winter matches begin November 15 and run for 20 weeks at 10: am, all day, all winter.

BLACK POWDER:  Paul B. reporting, BP has done some clean up in the back woods area, They are hosting a Blanket Shoot, 9/26-27, primitive set up w tents.

ARCHERY: Paul has been getting interest from members wanting archery and things are moving along, they expect to have a report for the Board at the next meeting. A student at PHS has approached the archers about starting a club, more to follow.

SHOTGUN:  George reporting, Shotgun, Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand is open on Wednesday’s 10:00–12:00, Thursdays 3:00-dusk, Saturday and Sunday 10:00-1:00.

50/50 Raffle was won by member Geoff C.

NEW BUSINESS: The cleaning of the indoor range and clubhouse is complete! The BoD has decided to retest so as to set a guideline for the future.

Election; nomination papers are up and will remain up until the October 5th meeting, Elections will be held November 2, voting will start at 6:30 pm.

NRA Funday is September 20th, Nikki S. is still looking for a few volunteers and asks that volunteers arrive at 8:00 am.

Rick asked that the Board appropriate 30 k for the heating system so we can go ahead with a system prior to winter. The Board had a vote to approve $30 k for the system, the exact system still to be decided upon but monies were approved. The motion then went to the membership for approval and was passed.
