Monday May 4, 2015 – Monthly Meeting Report

 

Next Monthly Meeting: Monday, June 1 - 7:00 PM

 

Vice President Arthur Fitzgerald opened the meeting at 7:00 with The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence was held for our troops and servicemen.

SECRETARY REPORT:  the Secretary’s report from the April 2014 meeting was read and accepted by the members.

TREASURER’S REPORT: The treasurer’s report from April, Chuck noting that it was a tough month, with insurance, mortgage, and taxes, equipment rentals, report was accepted and posted. Chuck also noting that we cleared our IRS audit and we are on schedule for getting back our 501c3 tax status.

MEMBERSHIP: Tom presented 10 new applicants for membership, all were accepted and welcomed to the club.

NSSF and GOAL: Matt Solander presented this months NSSF report and GOAL news, Matt read through some bullet points, encouraged new members to sign up for the once a month email and newsletter was posted. Sign up for emails @ old-colony.org and follow Old Colony on facebook,

HOUSE COMMITTEE: No report If you have any concerns or improvement needs please contact Gary.

RANGE COMMITTEE: No report, outdoor range work on the baffles continues. Franco will post any closures dates on the website.

PISTOL: Rick reporting Gallery Pistol winter league finished its season in 3rd place. This is a great time for newcomers to practice and learn the sport, they meet every Thursday 7:00-9:00 pm. Club guns and ammo are available.

IDPA: Ron reported a brief description of IDPA. They are averaging 32 shooter per match and periodically hold intro classes and live fire sessions. Schedule is posted.

RIFLE: George reporting that Schutzen was well attended. Old Colony had 3 teams of 6 at the Eastern Match shoots, Preston Campbell The Stewart Cup award winner, congrats. The jr. program was suspended while the three week match is being held, however 2 juniors competed this year and others attended in support and helping out.  3 more weeks before summer break, George will post an outdoor shoot each month over the summer.

Summer league, sight in and shooting under the lights starts the end of the month.

Military Match shoots are ongoing, Franco has a schedule posted.

June 6th is the gallery and pistol teams’ annual banquet held at the Shaw Center.

BLACK POWDER:  Paul B. reporting, BP shoots on the second Saturday of the month in the primitive area all are welcome. Interested parties note that the Northeast rendezvous will be held June 10-17 in NH

ARCHERY: Archers have been on the range, clearing lanes, repairing targets and working on the “woods walk”. See Keith or Paul with questions or for 3d targets.

SHOTGUN:  Shotgun, Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand is open on Wednesday’s 10:00–12:00, Thursdays 2:00-dusk, Saturday and Sunday 10:00-1:00.

50/50:  50/50 was won me

Update on indoor range renovation, The BoD is having an air quality test done both down and upstairs to help with determining what kind of system update is needed. We are still moving forward and hope to have a presentation for next month
