Monday December 7, 2015 – Annual Meeting Report

 

Next Meeting: Monday, January 4, 2016, - 7:00 PM

 

Mike started the meeting promptly at 7:00 pm with The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our troops and servicemen. A nice shout out to Nikki for her Christmas party. Bob Rearick from Veridion was on hand to answer any questions. Veridion is a way for us to fundraise and you to save money on your electric bill. Check out “The Power of Blues” you tube video featured on Chronical. They have a few different programs so please check out the website for info and sign up.

SECRETARY REPORT: report from November meeting was read, approved by members and posted. The new Board of Directors has elected Mike Del Rosso as President and Art Fitzgerald as Vice Pres.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  treasurer’s report read, approved and posted. The nice weather has been good to us, no AC or heat the Natl Grid bill was down $500.

MEMBERSHIP: Tom presented 21 applicants for membership, all were accepted and those present were welcomed to the club.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: We are in need of a house committee chairperson and a Range committee chair, please consider volunteering for one of these positions.

INDOOR RANGE COMMITTEE: Dale reporting on the indoor range work. Heating system is complete, up and running. They held a work party in what is being called the deconstruction phase, removal of the ceiling baffles, special thanks to Tom B, Eris S, Mel L, Dean H, Bob M, Jim F, Skip H, and Paul R.  The next steps in prep are sealants, floor epoxy and studding the walls, expected for spring, before pricing out the next phase. NSSF and GOAL REPORT: We are selling raffle tickets to a GOAL raffle for a rifle that would then be sold with all proceeds going to the project. Dale encouraging folks to sign up for GOAL its $30/ year and $35.for a family membership.  It’s the political season so stay on top of latest news, sign up on website Old-Colony.org. PISTOL: Rick reporting that the pistol is off to a good start, they have 12-15 shooters. They meet on Thursday nights, club guns and ammo is available, they are looking for new shooters and new members are welcome, see anyone on the team for info and schedule

IDPA: Ron reporting Defensive action style shooting ran 2 matches on Nov 21 with 2 other clubs, Marshfield and monument Beach, OCSA was able to donate $350. To The Pembroke Community Group and Toys were collected for the Toys for Tots campaign. IDPA will hold a intro class on Tues the 15th and a live fire on Sun the 20th, limited space available. BLACK POWDER:  Paul B. reporting, The Pot Luck Christmas Party in the cabin was held Dec 5th, Thanks to Bill, Margie, Tom and Kathy for all the cleaning, prep and decorating. Thank you all who donated toys for tots. Black powder shoots on Saturdays after the monthly meetings.

ARCHERY: Has been lapse for quite some time and in need of volunteers and leadership. Brendan D of PHS has approached the club about starting an archery club. He and Paul have been working together and Keith S and Deb H are willing to help out as coaches. They will volunteer time to help cleaning and clearing lanes. Coaches will need to be CORI checked. Note; PHS does not offer any funds to first year clubs but if they continue they are eligible for a stipend. And any youth programs make OCSA eligible for grant monies.

SHOTGUN:  Shotgun, Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand is open on Wednesday’s 10:00–12:00, Saturday and Sunday 10:00-1:00. Upcoming Ham shoot Dec??

50/50 Raffle was won by member Tom C $80.

RIFLE: George reporting for Rifle OC rifle team meets on Tuesday nights and it will probably be their last year unless they get some new blood and interest. OCSA winter matches began November 15 and run for 20 weeks at 10: am, all day, all winter. Dec 20th the ham shoot. Service rifle shoots have concluded for the winter.

NEW: Dale with a reminder for those gifting guns, a gift certificate is best.

The 2014 OCSA scholarship recipients are mailing in their second semester registrations (the final requirement) to receive their check $$. 2016 Scholarship info to follow.
