Monday April 6, 2015 – Monthly Meeting Report

President Mike opened the meeting at 7:00 with The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence was held for our troops and servicemen.

SECRETARY REPORT:  the Secretary’s report from the March 2014 meeting was read and accepted by the members.

TREASURER’S REPORT: The treasurer’s report for Feb and March was accepted and report was posted.  Chuck noted that we have in fact not yet signed with Veridion, as he is still researching with BBB and others,

MEMBERSHIP: Tom thanked Rick and Rich for running safety class and processing new members on Easter Sunday, 18 new members were welcomed to the club

NSSF and GOAL: Dale presented a nice report from NSSF and GOAL news, Please follow important news from legislators and news @ or follow Old Colony on facebook, Dales newsletters are posted on the bulletin board.

HOUSE COMMITTEE:  Gary thanked Mike for a great job on snow removal. If you have any concerns or improvement needs please contact him.

RANGE COMMITTEE: Franco looking for money, asking members for additional 10,000 to complete the baffle work on the outdoor range, this request comes with the support of BoD and passes through the membership. Further Franc looking for 3K to gravel the IDPA road, discussion, road will start behind the ranges not behind the clubhouse and will continue down filling in exposed roots and stumps and low spots, motion for money passes. Reminder that working on ranges means that they are closed for a certain time, Franco will be forthcoming with dates and post closures on the website.  Volunteers will be needed, info to be posted on website and facebook. Reminder 4 hours work equals $25.00 toward next year’s dues.

PISTOL: Dale reporting Gallery Pistol winter league has wrapped up its season so it’s a good time for newcomers to practice and learn the sport, they meet every Thursday 7:00-9:00 pm. Club guns and ammo are available.

RIFLE: MILITARY MATCH this weekend, 4/11, 12, see Franco for info and details.

WINTER LEAGUE; April 18, 19 Shutzenfest in the rifle house. All are welcome to check out a tradition in shooting at Old Colony since 1969.

JRS: Juniors Saturday morning program is on hiatus, April 18, 25 and May 2 due to the Eastern match shoots.  Date for indoor Summer League to be announced. 

BLACK POWDER:  Paul B. reporting, BP, they had a well attended 40 + people for the March shoot. BP shoots on the second Saturday of the month.

ARCHERY: Archers have been on the range, clearing lanes, repairing targets and working on the “woods walk”.

SHOTGUN:  Shotgun, Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand is open on Wednesday’s 10:00–12:00, Thursdays 2:00-dusk, Saturday and Sunday 10:00-1:00.

50/50:  50/50 was won by new member Dan who donated his winnings back to the Junior programs, Thank you Dan.
