Advanced Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments have caused a digital revolution in many activities, thanks to novel visualization and manipulation possibilities they provide. CEDAR - Collaborative Engineering Design And Review - proposes to advance the state of the art in this field. The main idea of our research approach is to combine the power of novel interaction paradigms with the results from ethnographic observations of real world engineers and their successive evaluations to the different versions of the system. Partners include INESC-ID, Universidade da Madeira, PUC-Rio (BR) and Petrobras. The project combines tablets, PowerWalls, Tables and inexpensive depth cameras to provide a distributed collaborative experience.
