The Optimist Junior Golf Program is an exciting and unique junior golf program for ages 10-18. More than 5,000 boys and girls throughout the United States and Canada and in several foreign countries compete in official Optimist qualifying tournaments. The best of these golfers, along with international golfers from around the globe, advance to the annual Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. Commonly referred to as simply The Optimist, it is one of the largest and most prestigious junior golf events in the world. In addition to top-level tournament golf, participants have the opportunity to meet new friends and to have a great deal of fun. Each year, more than 650 junior golfers from 22 countries participate in The Optimist.

PGA National Resort & Spa, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach County, Florida, is the home of The Optimist . Combined with a dedication to junior golf that few golf destinations can match, PGA National is the perfect location for The Optimist and 
will return to PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA, on the following dates.  

July 16-21, 2015: Boys 10-11 and 12-13 & Girls 10-12

July 21-26, 2015: Boys 14-15 & Girls 13-14 

July 26-31, 2015: Boys 16-18 & Girls 15-18

Besides being located next to the international headquarters of the PGA of America, the resort’s championship golf courses have hosted the PGA Championships, the PGA Seniors’ Championships, the Ryder Cup, the Grand Slam of Golf, the World Big Tour Match, the PGA Club Professional Championship and the PGA Junior Championship, and the resort is now the home course of the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic. In addition, Palm Beach County is rated as having more golf courses than any county in the United States.

2015 Pre-Quaifier Tournaments Set For May 9 & 16

The 2015 Ohio District Pre-Qualifier Tournaments will, for the first time, be conducted on two different dates. At six regional sites, Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Delphos and Hubbard the pre-qualifiers will be held on Saturday, May 9. The remaining regional pre-qualifiers at Dayton and Toledo will be held on Saturday, May 16.

Age Divisions Offered: BOYS 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18 and GIRLS 10-12, 13-14, 15-18

Registration Fee: The Ohio District OIJGC Committee has set the 2015 fee at $80 which will cover the cost for both the pre-qualifier and the Ohio District Championship tournaments.
