A towering prolific striker has spent all his life in Tanzania premiership with Azam FC, which indeed has natured his talent since joining Azam in 2007 from lower division club, Kijitonyama FC.

The 2012/12 Top Goal Scorer in the Vodacom Premier League, with a record of 19 goals was named Club’s Player of the year.

Bocco, a little bit slim but very strong with great pace has proved to be sharp by making himself available at right places in front of the goal and attend to various ball passed to him and score relentlessly. He’s Azam’s All-time Top Goal scorer.

In his and Azam’s first premier league season of 2008/2009 Bocco scored nine goals, then he went on to score 13 goals in the second season (2009/10) record that he repeated in the next following season (2010/11).

John Bocco has as well spent some weeks on trial with Israel premier league side, Apoel Tel- Viv but the deal could not go through in 2010.

For some years now, Bocco has been a member of the national team Taifa Stars, to which he has made huge contribution whenever his services were required.

2011/12  season will always be memorable to him after scoring 19 goals breaking Boniface Ambani from Yanga who scored 18 goals in the 2009/10 season.

Bocco was in the final shortlist for the Tanzania Player of The Year Award by Sports Journalist Association of Tanzania, as well as in thr  Vodacom Premier League Best player of the Year and Clubs Best Player of the Year awards.
