Richard is a Head of AI/ML Solutions for Retail Product Pillar under DBS Transformation & Data Group, where he manages a regional portfolio of 250+ AI/ML models across 4 markets, generating 9-figure economic value annually. He also serves as a Deep eXpert for DBS Innovation Group, spearheading the bank’s exploration into frontier technologies such as Quantum AI. With over 20 years of experience in AI/ML and data science, Richard’s career is defined by his ability to bridge the gap between academic theory and transformative industrial impact. Prior to DBS, he held senior technical roles as a Principal Data Scientist at QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey & Company, Lead Data Scientist at McLaren Applied, and Research Scientist at Singapore Management University A prolific researcher, Richard has published over 40 papers in international journals and conferences. He holds a Ph.D. and B.Eng. (First Class Honours) in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
