OpenEMRConnect (OEC) is open source software to connect Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems with other software systems, to facilitate health care delivery and reporting in Kenya at the local, regional and national levels. Initially it supports HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Center (CCCs) EMRs. Eventually it can be extended to support other healthcare domains as well. It is being written to demonstrate electronic health records exchange in Kenya.

Who are we?

OEC is a project funded through the International Training and Education Center for Health's (I-TECH's) technical assistance program in Kenya.  I-TECH is funded through PEPFAR, with oversight of HRSA and the CDC, to support the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation.  OEC's Phase 1 focus is linking EMR and household demographic surveillance information.
