Jeni Atchley is running for 3rd Vice Chair of SCDP

posted Mar 22, 2017, 7:17 PM by Oconee Democratic Party

My name is Jeni Atchley and I am running to be the next 3rd Vice Chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party.

My vision for the future of the party, I believe, will be effective and simple:

CREATE Bridges & Partnerships: I plan to ensure that we are bridging the gap between young people and our Democratic Party. Creating Partnerships with youth organizations will allow us to continue to grow.

COLLABORATE with the Other Organizations and the Community: There is so much passion right now in our country and in our state. Collaborating with other Democratic and Progressive organizations will make it so we continue to grow the party and ensure that we have victory across the state and in our country.

ELEVATE Others to Lead & Grow: The political process can be hard to navigate sometimes. By elevating others through education and resources, we can open the door to others and continue to grow our party.

I am running for this position not out of ego, but for because of a deep passion to see our party grow and invest in the youth of our state. I did not grow up in a political household, yet, after the support and guidance from those across the state, especially those in my local Dorchester County Party, I moved from a simple volunteer to 3rd Vice Chair of our County Party, the 2nd Vice President of the Young Democrats of South Carolina, a 2016 Democratic National Convention Delegate, and was honored to be part of the first class of the Congressman James E. Clyburn Political Fellowship.

Like many of you, I believe that our best days are ahead of us. Through creating new partnerships, bridging the gap, collaborating with other groups, working in our communities and elevating others to lead and grow, we have an opportunity to create a future for our current and future young democrats across the state to become the leaders of the future.
