Oakridge Optimist Received "Distinguished" Status
Optimist Past President Bill Adams attended the second quarter board meeting in Cambridge on Saturday, February 23, 2018.  He represented our club at the Midwestern Ontario Optimist 2017-18 Awards banquet. Our club earned Distinguished Club status, which is about the highest honour for an Optimist club.

Our Past President Rick Gillespie received the Club President Leadership Award for the district. We all know how much work Rick puts into our club so his honour is well deserved. Our great Lt Governor Darcy Walsh is in the linked picture holding the trophy which we will present to Rick at the next opportunity.

Optimists Rick, Randy Brew and Ron Fisher will each receive an Optimist watch and certificate identifying them as Distinguished President, Treasurer & Secretary respectively.  Each of them was out of the country and unable to attend the awards banquet.
