Welcome to my website.  My name is Nicole Dagro and I am currently enrolled in the Instructional Technology Master’s Program at New York Institute of Technology.  I hold an Initial Certification in Social Studies grades 7-12.  My goal is to learn as much about current technology so that I may incorporate it into my classroom and hopefully after this program is done, teach others to do the same.

Technology is a vital part of our everyday lives.  Technology can provide wonderful learning experiences for our students and it must be used as much as possible.  That is why it is so important to continue to educate ourselves on this magnificent educational tool.  It is our jobs as educators to inspire, motivate, and engage our students; technology can assist us in doing so.

On this site, you will find an array of information and resources.  You will find links to my educational philosophy, the NYCDOE Internet Acceptable Use Policy, my field experience work, useful resources, school technology plans and strategies, and other work I have completed during the semester of spring 2008.

My Technology Mission

My vision for a comprehension technology program would be that technology provides learning experiences for all students to create, think, and problem solve.  Technology will enable to students to be active learners.  Technology should be used to create an interactive educational environment within all content areas, deliver options for activities, create opportunities to explore different cultures to promote diversity, and to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.  To implement these key components of the technology program, teachers must be properly trained to use technology in their classrooms as well as become educated and aware of different delivery options they may use.  We must listen to the needs and ideas of teachers, students, administration, and the community.  We must be a learning community.  Technology can be and should be an influential learning tool.
