Provided rigorous, standards-based instruction in order to maximize students’ reading, writing and listening proficiencies. Lesson plans designed and structured to develop skills assessed in New York State’s ELA and Regents Exams. Incorporated literary analysis, Shaffer writing program, research methods, grammar and vocabulary study, use of technology as well as film study. Differentiated instruction in order to cater to various learning styles. Provided additional instruction in small group settings, emphasizing confidence-building and perseverance. Acted as faculty advisor to literary and art magazine.
