The New York City Teaching seminar is hosted by New York University1. It focuses on applications of research in mathematics education to instruction at the collegiate level.

During each meeting we discuss a selection of articles on a given topic. Past topics include metacognition, Inquiry Based Learning, cognitive load theory and writing assignments. A Brief History

This seminar was started by Corrin Clarkson. The first iteration was hosted collectively by Columbia University, New York University and the City University of New York. That iteration ran from Fall 2012 to Spring 2014. The second iteration of this seminar began in Spring 2018 as a monthly literature discussion for the clinical faculty at New York University. Starting in Fall 2018, the seminar expanded to include a broader range of participants.
