  • Advocacy Groups Call For Greater Awareness to Reduce Viral Hepatitis Health Disparities in NYC. May 19, 2010. The Hepatitis B Coalition and Hepatitis C Task Force met on the steps of New York City Hall on World Hepatitis Day, May 19. Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services Linda Gibbs announced Mayor Bloomberg's support for viral hepatitis efforts.

  • Bipartisan Capitol Hill Media Event: Health Experts, Lawmakers to Urge Federal Government To Fund Viral Hepatitis. March 16, 2010 (12 pm). Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2456, Washington, DC. The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable, four Members of Congress, and an expert physician from Duke University School of Medicine briefed the news media on the need for Washington to act on HR 3974 - which would provide additional federal funding for state-based screening, education, and prevention efforts - and fix the federal funding crisis for 5 million individuals afflicted with chronic viral hepatitis once and for all.
