Welcome to the District 3 website. Please utilize this website as a source for all information within the District and the Department of Education. As the Superintendent of District 3, I am extremely proud of the work of our dedicated administrators, teachers and staff who ensure that all students are receiving a high-quality education that is safe and conducive to learning.
Across all District 3 schools there is rigorous curricula with emphasis on high-level thinking, problem solving and opportunities for student discussion. Schools within the district offer Dual language classes in Spanish and French and for the 2017-2018 school year we are opening a Russian Dual Language Kindergarten Class. We insure that English Language Learners are supported and receiving instruction to increase their language acquisition. Schools offer Gifted and Talented programs as well as a full continuum of Special Education services including the ASD NEST program. We believe in professional development and opportunities for collaboration and sharing of best practices to ensure coherent instruction, and to increase teacher pedagogy and student achievement at all schools.
Within District 3, we place emphasis on the Arts and technology. Schools offer a variety of Arts programming within their coursework as well as through the partnership of many Community Based Organizations. Our elected officials support the schools with grants to bring in these programs as well as funding to purchase technology and increase access at all schools.
Lastly, we value and emphasize the importance of the collaboration and partnership with all families. We know that with increased parental involvement and staying informed on the progress of your child/ren, they will succeed and be on a path to college and career.
