The New York Association of Blind Students (NYABS) is a division of the National Federation of the Blind of New York. Our organization exists to:

  • Provide peer support, networking and skill-building opportunities for blind students and new professionals in New York
  • Empower blind students to exercise rights, build skills and live without limits
  • Educate the general public about the rights, responsibilities and potential of blind students
  • Support our state and national Federation

University of Buffalo: Overview of Tech for Blind Kids
This is a great introduction to the different methods blind students, particularly those in primary grades, use to access information effectively. While the authors opine that accessing info in school is a "daily struggle" for blind kids, we think that freely available, clear information is one way to change that. Enjoy the read!
