North West Fire Control has a number of different types of roles.
The majority of our staff work within the main control room answering 999 calls and supporting ongoing incidents.  These staff work a shift pattern which ensures that the service is covered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Our staff use one of the most advanced mobilising systems in the country to ensure that firefighters are dispatched speedily to any incident they are required to attend.

North West Fire Control accepts applications for Control Room Operator positions at any time.

Educated to GSCE standard (or equivalent qualifications) at Grade C or above.
Excellent keyboard skills (applicants will be tested for speed, accuracy and literacy).
Experience of working in high-pressure, customer service environments.
Evidence of using multi-functioning computer systems.
Be a confident individual with excellent decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills (spelling, verbal reasoning and listening will be tested).
Be able to work in a highly procedural and ordered working environment.
These contracts will be offered on a one year temporary basis with a review to be held after that time.
Please note that previous applicants who have been unsuccessful at application stage, have not attended an assigned interview, or were not successful at interview, may only re-apply after a period of 12 months.
Due to the volume of applications received, the company does not enter into dialogue with candidates who were unsuccessful at application stage.
