We are a chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt.  ARCE supports scholarship, training, and conservation efforts in Egypt.  More information about what ARCE does and how you can get involved can be found at the national website:

Our local chapter is generously supported by the University of Washington's Department for Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC). In addition to co-sponsoring many of our ARCE lectures, NELC also hosts many other exciting events.  Please check out their event page to see what is happening next:

Another friend organization is the Seattle Society of the Archaeological Institute of America.  Each year they host a number of archaeologically related talks on the University of Washington Campus.  Their schedule is posted on their website:

Would you like to learn more about the Egypt of today?  Eye On Egypt "is not a news site, but  an evolving portrait of Egypt's people, their values, their lives and personalities, what they love and  what they'd love to change."
