Welcome to my webpage! I am currently a research scientist on the Efficacy and Impact team with Lexia Learning. Recently I completed my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Kansas, where I was advised by Drs. Alison Gabriele and Rob Fiorentino. I received my MA in Linguistics from the University of Kansas (2017) and my BAs in Linguistics and Spanish, as well as a minor in Arabic, from the University of Florida (2015).

My academic research examines second language/bilingual acquisition and processing with speakers of English and Spanish. I am interested in the acquisition and processing of syntax, semantics, and discourse/pragmatics, particularly in the realm of pronominal and referential dependencies. I utilize electroencephalography (EEG), eye-tracking, as well as various behavioral measures to better understand how individual differences in cognitive and linguistic abilities impact the processing of various linguistic phenomena.

At the University of Kansas I was affiliated with the Second Language Acquisition Lab, Neurolinguistics and Language Processing Lab, and the Developmental Psycholinguistics Lab. In addition to psycholinguistics, I am also interested in variationist and classroom-based/pedagogical approaches to understanding the development of learner and bilingual grammars.
